Dr. Lyet is a Lancaster native who received a Ph.D. from the University of Virginia and his M.D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic residency at the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania which included hip training at the Rothman Institute at the Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. He also completed post-residency training in hand and microsurgery at H.U.P.

Dr. Lyet is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Orthopedic Society as well as State and local Medical societies.

Dr. Lyet is the current (and first) Surgical Director of the Lancaster General Hospital Orthopedic Center.

In addition to an active surgical practice, Dr. Lyet is an active participant in the teaching program for Family Practice residents at the Lancaster General Hospital. He has special interest and experience in conventional and minimally-invasive reconstructive hip and hand surgery.
